Located in the heart of the historic Hampshire town of Petersfield No15 has a
long and varied history beginning in 1591 as part of the Crown Inn. Growing in
size and shape over the next four centuries, it has provided the home to such
diverse businesses as grocers, bakers, soap makers and even a bank. Indeed you
can still see the original 19th Century bank vaults as you pass through the hallway.
Throughout
the centuries it has
had one common link by providing not only a place of business but, just as importantly,
a family home.
Now as we enter the 21st century its new owners Tony and Rosemary Lewis have continued
this tradition. Following the purchase of the building in 1999 thay have carried
out extensive refurbishments exposing
and re-using existing materials wherever possible so that the original charm of
the building remains.
With three delightful ensuite guest bedrooms on the second floor Number 15 High
Street provides a unique opportunuity to stay in one of the town's early
buildings.
